This marks the first time in two years that I have gotten a seasonal beer before that season actually started. (They are still selling Fall samplers here)
This is the 2012 Sierra Nevada Summerfest, a pilsner-style lager. This is a lighter beer that has a nice color and aroma. They claim that there is a "tangy hop bite" but honestly after drinking the Humming Ale from Anchor, I don't taste any "hop bite" here. That is not to say that this isn't a good beer, it just doesn't have a big personality to set it apart. The good thing is that it is a lighter lager that sits well on a hot day, so maybe it is an appropriate summer beer. Plus, when you buy a twelve pack you apparently get a free cat.
